Moving to a new country can be exciting, but also overwhelming. Through the ESN Buddy Programme, you’ll be placed in a buddy group made up of local students and other international students. Your buddies will help you with practical matters such as arrival, first steps at the university, getting around the city, and understanding local life in Osijek.

Being part of a group means you’re never alone - you can ask questions, share experiences, and build friendships in a relaxed and supportive environment.

As a local buddy, you become one of the first friendly faces international students meet in Osijek. You’ll help them settle in, take care of the paperwork, introduce them to Croatian culture, and show them everyday student life from a local perspective.

Unlike the classic one-to-one buddy system, ESN Osijek uses a group-based approach, which allows you to meet more people, share responsibilities, and enjoy a more dynamic and social experience. It’s a great way to practice languages, gain international experience at home, and make long-lasting friendships.
